MultiMode Fiber

Hi All,

We have a switch in one building.  The UTP is connected to a port on the switch.  the UTP is going to a MC101X Media converter.   Multimode fibre connected to the converter which is going to another building.

A client is connected to the converter MC101X via UTP.

The Client laptop is connected to UTP in the second building and is not able to get onto the network.  Can not ping the default gateway or any devices on

If the client plugs directly into the same switch port in the first building the connection is fine.

On the Media convertor when running the fibre links are OK and the UTP Links are OK.

Hello,

post a schematic drawing showing how everything is connected. What device is the default gateway for the non-working client configured on ?

This more to wth your Media converter - check the config with no negotiation on switch side see if that works.

some device don't like negotiation or come with a disabled option, depends again media convertes

distance between buildings? can you post a media converter model to see if we can help you?

get Media converters in near the switch and take small fibre path lead and test - is that works ?

Hey!

Could you post a diagram or network plan of the concerned part of the network.

Also fill it with the switchport settings (speed, negotiation, mode, ...).
I am currently unsure how things are interconnected, which I would need to know to give some advice

Thanks and BR

Juls
