Hello team,

Am working on Nexus7k and trying to investigate the cause of packet loss when user send pings on some nodes to remote server.  I have attached a sample of the ping result from the n7k to the server.

Just in the learning process especially Nexus switch

do you config the HSRP in NSK vPC ?

HSRP is configured for the interested vlan. n7k-1 is active and n7k-2 is standby.

do peer-gateway and see the result.

 sh hsrp interface vlan 100
Vlan100 - Group 1000 (HSRP-V2) (IPv4)
Local state is Active, priority 90 (Cfged 90), may preempt
Forwarding threshold(for vPC), lower: 1 upper: 90
Hellotime 1 sec, holdtime 3 sec
Next hello sent in 0.312000 sec(s)
Virtual IP address is 10.0.13.254 (Cfged)
Active router is local
Standby router is 10.0.13.252 , priority 81 expires in 2.588000 sec(s)

the HSRP group is mismatch? can you reconfig it again and test again ?

HSRP Group corrected but there is intermittent packet loss from the n7k to the remote server.

Do you config the peer-gateway ?
there is rule in N7K that of packet pass through vPC peer-ink, then the packet will drop if it forward to other vPC member.
Peer-GW prevent the packet from pass through the vPC peer-link.

can you check the mac address of loss packet ? is it the mac address of standby HSRP "real MAC address"

The peer-gateway is configured

Can you hint me how do I check the mac address of the loss packet from the ping result?

Check this link the answer why some Ping is loss.

also this link contain all info. about how we can capture the ICMP packet pass through the N7K.
