Hi guys,
My boss asked me the following:
We have a critical server located in network A, if this server fails we need to redirect the traffic from clients to another server located in network B. (Clients still point to server located in network A)
I had thought (for covering this contingency) to put the IP of server in a router interface (in network A too) as a secondary IP and do some kind of nat to get in any way to the server located in network B.
Please, any idea to accomplish this? Thank you!

The thing which you are asking is called Global Load Balancing. In which you keep servers on primary sites as well as on DR Sites and the magic works along with DNS based on weight given to primary ip and DR IP.
Just with normal router and switches i do not think even if its possible.

Hi
As Ty mentioned with loadbalncing and DNS you can do it easly
however with a router you might be able to do it using PB< NATing or IOS loadbalncing SLB
but this is depends on you networks/setup
can you post a diagram showing the router, LAN, and servers how they connected to the LAN and router so we can advise you better

Thank you very much guys!
Sure! I post the diagram with some details.
It would be great if this works with NAT and PB to avoid install other devices.
