if I want to design network then I have two design then which one is better--
network details--
there are total 60 access layer switches--
network design one--
in this,I am using collapsed core i.e. Core1,2 & 3 (Model 4506-e with single sup 720 Card)
there is HSRP between core 1 & 2.
and on core3,We have written default route only which is going to HSRP of Core1&2 VIP.
and Core 1 &2 serves 20 access switches.
Core 1 & 3 serves 20 access switches
Core 2 &3 serves 20 access switches
for illustration, pic of my first design is attached so tell me whether this design is right or Pros & Cons.
Network design two---
there is only Core 1 & 2 with HSRP and I added Distribution layer with 2 devices in VSS.
Core1 & 2---Switch 4506 -e with HSRP
Distribution---2x Switch 4506 -e as VSS
and all 60 Switches are served from this VSS setup
for illustration, pic of my first design is attached so tell me whether this design is right or Pros & Cons.
and out of 2, which will you suggest

Design 2 is more acceptable design personally ( but got caveats that sup 720 is too old, suggest to have Sup-2T if possible,)
If you are not keen to deploy VSS, Do it also with out VSS - since VSS may have some operational challenges.

As long as your supervisor higher version taken care, you are good.
VSS is like stacking, make 2 x 4500 physical in to one logical switch, but there are pros and cons in the real time experience.
if you are not famiiar and hands on with the VSS, i would suggest stay away.
