Network Media: UTP Cat7

hi all,

i can't find the suit thred for this discussion, so i'm post it here :)

does anybody ever used cat7? because my client is asking for cat7.

i oredi googling, and search in some books.

some said that the recomended distance is not more than 100m. but i'm still trying to get some information for this.

even i tried to search the seller in my country, and none of them is selling this type of cables

hehehhe..

any information?

what would be the reason for them needing CAT 7?

do they need to use 10 GB over copper? do they require transmission frequencies of upto 600mhz? if so, cat7 would be your choice.

if they do not require 10 GB over copper, cat5e or cat6 would suffice and allow for upto 1 GB as well as save them sufficient amounts of money. (cat7 expensive still)

hm..yeah..

they need the frequencies actually. it's on the technical spec they need.

i think the maximum distance is still 100m, correct?

Category 7 AKA Class F Cabling is Cat 6 with tons of shielding and better quality parts and pieces. www.Siemon.com is who I'd look at.
