New IEEE STP switch vendors

Looking for details on the new 802.1D standard where the newly developed Spanning-Tree protocol enhancements such as (IEEE 802.1w Rapid, IEEE 802.1s MST) are incorporated into IEEE 802.1D Standard (year 2003 and later).

I already have switches that support the 1998 IEEE 802.1D version.

802.1D MAC Bridges, This revision of Std. 802.1D-1998 will:

Incorporate existing published amendments 802.1t and 802.1w

Does ANY vendor support this new standard?

I know Cisco allows you to modify the current STP version running but this is Cisco's modified STP version -AND there is nothing wrong with Cisco's version.

However, I am looking for a switch vendor that incorporates the new IEEE version POST 2003.

Thanks for any and all support.

With the latest software we (cisco) claim compliance to 802.1Q-2005, which is the latest version of MST. In fact, there are some minor differences (as always), but most of the latest feature in MST are in there. And 802.1D can be seen as a subset of 802.1Q.

So by running MST on a Cisco bridge, you are compliant to 802.1D-2003.

Regards,

Francois
