Is it possible at nexus 5548 with daughter card to assign ipv6 address to interface?
I have gone thru lot's od docs cisco says on tech doc:
• IPv6 Routing Protocols: Static, Open Shortest Path First Version 3 (OPFv3), Border Gateway Protocol (BGPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRPv6)
• IPv6 VRF Lite
So I am assuming is supporting IPv6 routing.
command line:
NEXUS-1(config-if)# ipv6 add?
^
% Invalid command at '^' marker.
?
^
% Invalid command at '^' marker.
NEXUS-1(config-if)# ipv6 ?
port Port policy
I was looking for feature to turn on but doesn't looks there is one.
Doesn't seem that I can turn it on by ipv6 unicast-routing.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Marcin,
Nope ipv6 is not supported on 5.1(3)N2(1) i.
Were as it is supported on 5.2 release.
Table 3-5 lists the release history for this feature.

It might be something to do with your version of NX-OS.

My NX-OS is 5.1(3)N2(1) is that one supporting ipv6?
Is quite weird that nexus doesn’t support ipv6 where there is no many ipv4 left.
CISCO should really sort that out, we have spent over £50k for switches and we are not able to do dual stack ;(

Does it mean that we have to buy new NX OS update for brand new switches?
We have received those switches with this software yesterday.
Or do I need to buy ASR to do IPv6 routing?
thanks
Marcin,
Just go ahed and upgrade the firmware.
