Hi,

We have Nexus 5K switches at the aggregation layer and VPC domain has been configured on them. VPC domain includes switches at the access layer as an identity.

But when primary switch reboots failover didn,t happened. We are attaching architecture diagram for the setup along with show tech for Nexus 5K both switches.

Please help us in this regards.

Regards

Akhil

Based on the output the secondary switch (switch 2) is now acting as the primary.  The "show vpc" output indicates this in the "vPC role" line.  The switch expects to be secondary, but is acting as the primary because the primary failed/rebooted/etc.  If you reboot switch 2 you will see the output on switch 2 change to "secondary" rather than "secondary, operational primary".

vPC role                        : secondary, operational primary

Hello

Can you please explain more detailed what do you mean under - failover not happening.

Role not changed or traffic is not forwarded properly or any other issue?

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Do you reload Both n5k or one and FEX,

Can you please add "peer-config-check-bypass" to see whether this will resolve the issue?

HTH,

Alex

Hello,

Nexus 5K primary switch reboots failover didn,t happened

If primary switch goes down , secondary will take over as operational primary and traffic will start moving from secondary switch once primary switch comes up again it will become active as operational secondary switch.
