Nexus 5K - upgrade problem

babalao

Hello,

when I try to upgrade, it fails because the file system (bootflash:) needs to free some space. From what I seen the files are in the directory bootflash:saved_cores.

These are the file (there are a lot of this): 10653683 Jan 14 14:16:04 2023 1673716564_0x101_in.dcos-telnetd_log.8645.tar.gz

Can I delete this files or could be a problem?

I show you the steps below:

N5K# show install all impact kickstart n6000-uk9-kickstart.7.3.13.N1.1.bin system n6000-uk9.7.3.13.N1.1.bin

Install has failed. free space in the filesystem is below threshold (0x40930062)

These are mostly log files on the flash. If you don't need them, they should be deleted to make space, and also make sure you are logging to an external device so the flash does not get full.

These are the old logs files occupying spaces. There is vulnerability (CVE-2024-20399) detected in NX-OS 7.3(13)N1(1) and fix is available in Release 7.3(15)N1(1)

Hello, thank you ALL for the replies.

@shambhu Kumar this brings another doubt, which version would be better to go?:

NX-OS 7.3(13)N1(1) - which is the recommended version right now but has this vunlerability     or

NX-OS 7.3(15)N1(1) - which fixes this vuln, but not recommended right now by Cisco

thank you

NX-OS 7.3(13)N1(1) - which is the recommended version right now but has this vunlerability

Go with the recommended version by Cisco.

It's core files - dump of the process's memory during the crash. They can be deleted safely if there is no need in RCA. In your case, they can deleted.

Hello @babalao ,

you can upload the files to an FTP server or TFTP server and then you can delete them

. As it has been already explained by colleagues these are core dump files created when the system had SW crashes.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
