Nexus 9k Adding into existing HSRP cluster

I Have 2x 4506 chassis running in HSRP cloud. as a migration plan, i gonna buy Cisco Nexus 9k chassis.

My question is as below

Can i first introduce the nexus 9k in the hsrp standby state?

Is Nexus will process the packet if it is in hsrp standby state?

If 9Ks are not VPC, they act like a normal switch, but if they are VPC, they behave differently.
