Nexus 9K NXOS boot mode: LXC question

Stephane Frigon

Hello,

    we received some Nexus 9k and I just want to know if the provider "installed" the NXOS to make sure it's not unpacking the bin file each time it boot. I'm pretty new to those Switches and the documentation did not clearly pointed me to the answer. When I do a "show version" I see that the boot mode is LXC and when I look at the "show boot" it's only pointing to the bin file without the "unpacked" afterward. Here are the outputs of the show version, show boot and show install all status. Can somebody tell me if it's been properly installed? Here is the "show version"

        apparently LXC mode is used for and or during Enhanced ISSU upgrades ; if that is not the case you can abandon it by

switch(config)# no boot mode lxc

So, the LXC mode is always booting from NX-OS.bin file but have the advantage to be able to perform live updates (if there is no disruptive operations between 2 NX-OS version) that is a great feature in our environment. So I guess that it answered my question. I thank you a lot for your answer!
