I've been asked to support a project where a pair of existing N5Ks currently act as a DC & LAN Core and have FEXs and IDFs connecting to the pair using vPCs. The pair also is home to the default gateways for the access vlans. We've purchased a pair of Nexus 93180s and would like to separate the LAN environment from the existing N5Ks. Initial thoughts are to fully mesh the two vPC domains using L3 P2P uplinks and use HSRP on the new LAN Core N9Ks for default gateway connectivity but I'm fairly new with the Nexus line and understand there can be gotchas. I'm hoping the community can provide some feedback as to the proposed plan and best practices. I've attached some images that depict the goal albeit the addressing is arbitrary in my examples.
