No serial number found

Hello everybody.

Just managed to set up a couple of 3850-48P stacks, every one of these tells me while booting up:

% Error! No serial number found for this platform.

cisco WS-C3850-48P (MIPS) processor with 4194304K bytes of physical memory.

Nevertheless, I didn't notice any issues...

Is this a "cosmetic issue", or what else?

Kind regards,

Flavio.

In "show ver" a S/N should show. If it doesn't contact the TAC, no support contract is needed as the product is new out of the box.

Possbly a cosmetic bug.

Kindly post the output to the command "sh inventory".

I am seeing the same thing.  Wondering if it is just cosmetic.  Here is my sh inv:

NAME: "c3xxx Stack", DESCR: "c3xxx Stack"

PID: WS-C3850-24P      , VID: V01  , SN: FOC1712V1HR

NAME: "Switch 1", DESCR: "WS-C3850-24P"

PID: WS-C3850-24P      , VID: V01  , SN: FOC1712V1HR

NAME: "Switch 1 - Power Supply A", DESCR: "Switch 1 - Power Supply A"

PID: PWR-C1-715WAC     , VID: V01  , SN: DCB1711G02

It's cosmetic.  Based on your "sh inventory" output, it tells me the appliance was made some time between 18 to 22 April 2013.
