No STP Instances VLAN X

Good Day

I've been having a problem with a neighboring Switch not getting Ip from a Vlan (VLAN 731). When i troubleshoot the middle switch (the switch between the Inter-vlan and the swtich that is not getting Ip), im realizing that it doesn't have spanning tree instances for that vlan, even tought, the vlan does exist on the vlan data base, and it is passin through the interface trunk. Why do you think is happaning? (paste some usefull output):

es-plcSRadioP5(config)#do sh spanning vl 731

Spanning tree instance(s) for vlan 731 does not exist.

es-plcSRadioP5(config)#

es-plcSRadioP5#sh vl br | i 731
731 Usuarios_P5_MA active Fa1/0/1, Fa1/0/5, Fa1/0/6, Fa1/0/20, Fa1/0/21

Hello,

try to delete and recreate the Vlan:

es-plcSRadioP5(config)#no vlan 731

es-plcSRadioP5(config)#vlan 731

Already done that my friend!

Thanks

Thank you Paul!!

I didnt realize this because the Vlan wasnt pruned by STP in the Interface Trunk Output!!

When reconfigure the vlan instance of STP, it come to life the instance!

Hello
it won’t be pruned even if you disable stp for that vlan hence the confusion however vtp version 3 i think it would do as that has correlation with stp but i would need to validate that to be 100%

Glad you got it working anyway and thanks for the rating and confirmation.

Hi Paul!!

No Thank you!! thanks for your time and your help!

This sw have VTP version 2 running.

M.M.

@paul driver i have a question regarding VTP. If i change the current version of VTP (Version 2) to version 3 in my VSSLAN Intervlan Switch, there is somo kind of secondary effect or interrumption of service? I have most of my platform switchs in transparent mode but not all.
