NX-OS Upgrade

Hello,

I am planning on using ISSU 7.2(0) to upgrade the NX-OS from version 6.2(12) to 7.2(0). Based on this doc: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/7_x/nx-os/release/notes/7x_nx-os_release_note.html#pgfId-1284672; using ISSU 7.2.(0) is compatible with 6.2(12).

However, when I ran the  sh install all impact system bootflash:n7000-s2-dk9.7.2.0.D1.1.bin command and the output states that the two SUPs aren't compatible with the 7.2(0)D1(0) version. The current OS on the chassis is

BIOS: version 2.12.0
kickstart: version 6.2(12)

system:    version 6.2(12)

NX7K# sh install all impact system bootflash:n7000-s2-dk9.7.2.0.D1.1.bin
Installer will perform impact only check. Please wait.

Not all components in the image are compatible.
ISSU can't continue

What does this mean? Does this mean ISSU 7.2 will fail to upgrade the two SUPs?

I was able to find a solution. The reason why I received that error message was because the command listed on the release notes was incorrect.

The release notes states to use this command:

sh install all impact system bootflash:n7000-s2-dk9.7.2.0.D1.1.bin

However, this is the correct command:

sh install all impact kickstart bootflash:n7000-s2-kickstart.7.2.0.D1.1.bin system bootflash:n7000-s2-dk9.7.2.0.D1.1.bin

Thanks for your attempt to help. Much appreciated.

Nearly two years later and the documentation is still not very clear. There is a carriage return in the documentation which leads to an incomplete command .  This tip solved my problem.

Agree, the documentation isn't the most helpful. The command "install all" is great, if there are no other files in flash. If you actually want to select a specific file you can use the following

"install all kickstart bootflash:nXXXX-sx-kickstart.X.X.XX.bin system bootflash:nXXXX-sX-dk9.X.X.XX.bin
