NX7K Double-Sided vPC

Hello,

I am redesigning our DC and had a question regarding vPC in a dual-sided vPC configuration. The document below states and shows that when configuring dual-sided vPC, a NX5K or pair for redundancy is required. My question is, do the intermediary switches have to be NX5Ks or would the C4500s type of switches would work?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Yes, you can connect the 4850 directly to both 7ks and that should work just fine.

Double-sided vPC is configured when a pair of Nexus switches is connected to another pair of Nexus switches. In my design, I will need to have 2 NX5Ks to connect to the NX7Ks vPC pair.

Thanks for the reply, Reza!

I am thinking of connecting a C4850 switch directly to a vPC pair(NX7Ks).  My question is, is this a type of design supported?

Thanks in advance.
