OM2 Vs OM3 Fibre & SFPs

What are the core differences between these two types of MM fibre? Does OM3 fibre require different SFPs?

Hi,

No, you don't need to change your SFPs.  The difference is the distance that each OM can carry.  For example over 10Gig bandwidth OM2 distance limitation is about 100 Meters vs OM3 is 300 Meter and OM4 is over 500 Meters.

Edit: They are all Multimode 50um
