I am seeing the following error in Nexus 7000.
%OSPF-4-CKSM_ERR: ospf-2 [3482] (default) Bad OSPF checksum in packet ffff computed 0 from 10.20.100.2 on Ethernet1/6
%OSPF-4-CKSM_ERR: ospf-2 [3482] (default) Bad OSPF checksum in packet ffff computed 0 from 10.20.0.10 on Ethernet1/5
The far end switch is a third party vendor.
what does this error mean.

Hi Parthiban,
Error Message OSPF-4-CKSM_ERR Format: Bad OSPF checksum in packet %hx computed %hx
from %s on %s
Explanation A OSPF packet with invalid checksum was received
Parameters: Checksum value, Checksum value, Source IP address, Interface name ...
Recommended Action No action is required.
The %OSPF-4- CKSM_ERR: error message indicates that an Open Shortest Path
First (OSPF) router has received an invalid OSPF packet. The cause of the
error is included in the error message itself.
* A device between the neighbors, such as a switch, is corrupting
the packet.
* The sending router's packet is invalid. In this case, either the
sending router's interface is bad, or the error is caused by a software
bug.
* The receiving router is calculating the wrong checksum. In this
case, either the receiving router's interface is bad, or the error is
caused
by a software bug. This is the least likely cause of this error message.
