Ospf issue between 2921 and 3750

Have an issue, where Ospf will not come up between a 2921 running 15.2(4)M4 and a 3750G running 12.2(35)SE5.

Ospf is running between physical interfaces.

Ospf running between the 2921 and a 6513 with no issue.

Ospf running between the 3750 and other switches no issue.

debug ip ospf hello, shows hello's bein sent from the 2921 to the 3750, but none from the 3750.

Unable to run debugs on the 3750 as it is in production.

able to ping between the devices and tried configuring different type of Ospf network types.

Has anyone seen this issue?

Thanks

Colin

Colin,

could you post the output of

show ip ospf interface

from the common OSPF link's interfaces of the 2921 and 3750?

Regards

Rolf

Rolf, i don't have access to the devices at the moment, just wondered if anyone had experieneced the same issue.

In this version of IOS, there is by default a hidden command to make the interface passive in ospf.

A hidden command? Are you saying the command "passive-interface default" is enabled by default for OSPF on 12.2(35)SE5? Never seen that before.

Yes it is, i had never come across that before either!

Hello

The adjacency needs to match the following in the hello packet.

Hello/Dead interval timers

Authentication ( if any)

Subnet

Area
Area stub flag ( if stub are is to be configured - then all routers in the stub domain need to configured as a stub)

Paul,

the issue was the hidden comand making the interface passive within the EIGRP process!
