PA-MC-8T1 on FlexWan in 6500

I cannot get the PA-MC-8T1 to work on our 6509-NEB. See the flexwan module ok but not the PA, IOS is 12.1(27b) so I am ok there. I am wondering if it is an issue with not being supported by the SUP1A-2GE. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, correct, flexwan is hot swappable, PA might be not. Most time, I just suggest customer to pull out flexwan when replacing PA.

In "show diag", did you see PA-MC-8T1?

CWAN Controller Memory Size: Unknown

But "CWAN Controller Memory Size: Unknown" does not sound right. Can you try to reseat both PA and flexwan? You can try Bay 1 as well.

I reset both of them just a day or so ago. Bay 1 has a supervisor module. I have bays 3 - 6 available, does it matter which bay?

flexwan has two slots, we call it bay 0 and bay 1. You can put PA in another slot of flexwan if possible.

OK, I got you. I understand the PA is not hot swap so I need to pull the whole flexwan, correct?

Yes, correct, flexwan is hot swappable, PA might be not. Most time, I just suggest customer to pull out flexwan when replacing PA.

That looks like it did it! So just a bad bay perhaps?

Could be.

If you don't mind, you can try to put it back to bay 0 again. If it still has issue, you need to replace flexwan.

Looks like it is still good moved back to bay 0????
