Hi there! I will appreciate it very much if someone can help me with the following question.
If you use opposite currents, can you still send data in one direction?
What I'm referring to is the fact that the pairs of wires in UTP cables are twisted together and the currents run in opposite directions, therefore cancelling out any crosstalk/interference. However, why is it then that when using a crossover cable (connecting switch to switch) that data on a pair of wires is sent in one direction ie wires 1 & 2 connect to wires 3 & 6. Surely, data from 1 & 2 cannot go in the same direction if the current is going in opposite directions within the pair of wires?
Thank you in advance for all your help.
Best wishes,
Ashraf
