We have deployed VSS couple of weeks ago on 4506-E with SUP7L-E Supervisory Engines,
As VSS works fine, we want to go ahead and implement MultiChassis EtherChannel, that’s where we are faced with a bit of a problem on a performance side;
CPU Spikes – In general our CPU load is somewhere from 20 – 35 % during working hours, when we put MEC in place CPU spikes by 15 % at
least and stays that way (even on a weekend when there is no load on a network)
Delay Variations - With MEC deployed, delay to my SVI spikes up to 10 ms instead of staying on 1 ms, and goes up and down 4, 7, 8 ms, does not stabilize as well
Is there something I’m missing in terms of configuration/optimization of implementing MEC?
Has any of you faced with such kind of issue before, any suggestions will be helpful
