Hello, I have a cisco L2 switch which is not routable/reachable from anywhere except the router it is directly connected to.
Is there any way to set up a proxy ping so that I can ping it from my main network ?
Also it would nice to receive syslogs from this isolated switch. Is there any way for that switch to proxy it's syslogs out through its directly connected router to the main network.
Thanks kindly for any info.

Hi,
If you want to access it from your main network, you would need to connect it to the main network and configure it so you can mange it that way. The same goes for the syslogs.

Hello, what about the range of utilities I just googled that offer proxy ping by setting SNMP on the proxy router to ping the end device and return the result ?
Are they a good way to ping a normally unreachable device via a proxy router ?
