We are wanting to run some policy based routing.  I have set up the route map, but when I attempt to assign the policy to the Vlan interface, it is not an option.

Is there an option that will need to be enabled prior to utilizing this feature?

We are using the following Version:

sh version
Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(25)SG, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dwane,

The IOS you are running does not support PBR. You need atleast EnterPrise services to run PBR on Cat 4500 SUp's.Which Supervisor Engine are your running BTW?

Please see below featuresets supported on various IOS images on Cat4500.

Thanks Amit.  THat is what I was afraid of.

Our supervisor for this particular device is a:

1     2  Supervisor IV 1000BaseX (GBIC)         WS-X4515           JAE0934JQQV

Thank you for your help.

Dwane

Sorry but you have to upgrade the sup 4 to enterprise services to enable the PBR.

Good luck with that.

Hi all,

I have a similar problem.

My question is: is there an alternative to PBR for source based routing?

(I want to seperate guests from workers with VLANs and a didicated firewall interface, so I have to route guest traffic to the correct VLAN)

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Phil
