Ports do not support bridging?

Hello,

I'm using a 1941w router and recently added a EHWIC-D-8ESG-P which has 8 ports. I had planned on splitting them into 2 different wired networks. To do this I was going to bridge 4 ports together. I attempted this with the 2 ports that the 1941w router comes with and that was successful. When I try the same thing with the new ports it will say that it does not support bridging. Does this card not support it or is there a different method for these?

Commands I used for the 2 ports on the 1941w router:

bridge irb
interface gigabitethernet0/0
no ip address
bridge-group 5
interface gigabitethernet0/1
no ip address
bridge-group 5

interface BVI5
ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
no shutdown
bridge 5 route ip

Hi,

Bridging is usually done on router ports. As for the 8 port EHWIC, you can create one or multiple vlans and add the ports to the vlans you want. Think of it as a layer-2 switch.

How do I add ports to a vlan? I've looked this up and it generally uses the commands

interface fastethernet 0/1

switchport access vlan 3

I've tried this and it doesn't work since most people seem to be using a switch.
