I know I can do DSCP tags for QoS on packets, but is there a quick and dirty way to prioritize a (or several) VLANs over every other VLAN going through a switch port?
Example:
Regardless of what type of traffic is on the VLAN I want to always guarantee that VLAN 50,51 and 52 have priority on the transport medium while I want to give VLANs 100, 101, and 102 best effort?

The simple answer is yes. However you have very limited information in this post so check out this link and see if that applies to what your trying to do. The configurations can get complex depending on your needs.

The link you gave got truncated with ... in it so it doesn't work.
I gave very limited information because what I posted is exactly what I need to do. I don't want to categorize type of traffic going across the VLAN, I don't want to rewrite anything. I just need to make sure several VLANs always have priority of bandwidth on a port.

Hi Matt,
Maybe Per-Port Per-VLAN (PPPV) might help you.
Here are two good articles on this subject:
For catalyst 3550 :

for catalyst 3560:

Hope it helps.

OK... I've been reading on this... but my question is, if I do vlan based QoS, will my DSCP tags on other vlans in the network still apply?
