problem getting iOS 15.0.2 to run on 3750-x 48ps-s

Hello

Trying to get the 10Gbps service module to be recognised requires V15 according to cisco docs

Upgrading from V12.2 55 (or .58) fails on some switches I have tried
Process fails and I finish up at the switch: prompt
I can recover....
The switch can be regressed back to v12.2.55 or .58
But I can't get all of them up to v15

I have tried 5 to date
Same methods producing different results
2 worked
3 failed
Can anyone help throw any light on this
Anyone had similar problems please?

Ok, the file you've copied is probably corrupt.

You can transfer the IOS (faster) from your client to the 3750X using a USB.  You can also boot the 3750X from the USB.

Make sure your USB stick is format with FAT16.

Now, back to your problem of a corrupt IOS.  Go to the Cisco website and compare the MD5 hash with the website.

Same file works on Two of the five devices ......
Used same FTP
I don't see how it could be corrupted ?

Copy from USB to flash

On 5 switches , two upgraded three wont. .... They will recover back to v12 ok
No pattern I can see
It seems random

But there must be some difference in the kit ????

Ok, let say that you have a valid BIN file in the USB.

Stick the USB into the 3750X that ain't booting.  Try the following lines:

1.  flash_init

2.  boot usbflash0:c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE.bin

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? We're seeing the same issue on 48port 3750-X's.

Some take 15.0(2) some don't, some fail to ROMMON with that version in place, some just hang.

15.0(1) works fine.

I'm getting the same issue.

I've got one WS-C3750X-24T-E on which 15.0(2)SE4 is working fine and two WS-C3750X-24T-S which fail to rommon with the boot proccess failed message.

I'm also getting the same issue yetserday.

I was trying to up upgrade a stack (3 x 3750X-24T). On one switch, added one day before to the stack was upgraded, has no problem with 15.0(2) and the other two switches are hanging within the bootprocess after loading IOS.

Has anyone a solution?

What error are you getting before it throws you in rommon?

If you can tell the exact error we might be able to get you a solution.

IOS-upgrade with switch#archive tar /xtract tftp://192.168.1.10/c3750e-universalk9-tar.150-2.SE5.tar flash:  was working fine, without problems. After reboot the switch is starting up to:

The number of @@@@ and the time of loading IOS let me suppose all IOS was loading, but there was no more output to see. The system LED gone out and nothing more I could do, except to pull out the power cable.

The process was reproducible, also with 150-2.SE2 - for testing I have done.

But because there is a productiv environment (should be available 24 hours/day), I can't do any more tests on this hardware.

I think you don't have access to this bug.

I opened the bug URL and compared the scenario and it exactly matches your symptoms.

So either keep on running this switch with the code its working on or get it replaced.

But the only resolution to this issue would be a replacement of this switch, that is forsure.
