Procedure for Software Stacking Between Catalyst 1200/1300 and CBS 350

Hello,

I would like to know the procedure for setting up software stacking between Catalyst 1200/1300 and CBS 350 switches.

Is there an official guide or specific recommendations for configuring this interconnection optimally (e.g., virtual stacking, LACP, VLAN, Spanning Tree, etc.)?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Are you asking about stacking 1200/1300 and 350 in the same physical stack (i.e. intermixing the different series) or stacking those models within the same series physical stacks?

As to interconnecting stacks to other network devices, as a stack behaves as a single logical unit, generally all the same design recommendations apply, just as the would to any other L2 or L3 switch.  Additionally, though, there are recommendations concerning taking advantage of the additional redundancy provided by a stack.

The idea is to stack two CBS 350s and a Catalyst 1200.

I would need to double check, but probably very, very (very) unlikely.

I don't recall any examples of stacking between different switch series, and even within a series, there can be restrictions.

Hello,
Could you please check the information about this solution, I can't find any “precise” information about it. The little information I could find is that the catalyst must be the master of the stack. Can you give me some information on this subject?

Thank you for your understanding.

I couldn't find any information that the two series could be stacked together.

I know the c1200/c1300 is positioned as the replacement for the CBS series, but haven't seen a new model series offer that level of backward compatibility.

So, again, unless someone says otherwise, very likely the answer is no.
