Protocol Not In This Image

I tried enabling ospf on a Cisco Cat3750, model number: WS-C3750E-48PD-S. But it says "Protocol not in this image". I looked on cisco's website for a download for a IPServicesK9 or a Advanced IPServicesK9 image to re-image the switch with but it seems there is not one that is offered for this model. Is there any other solution for this problem. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The basic OSPF support for your switch with IP Base started at 12.2(55)SE IOS release. Currently both the latest available IOS versions within the 12.2 and 15.0 trains, ie.12.2(58)SE2 and 15.0(2)SE which are available at cisco download for your box declare to support OSPF.

Best regards,

Antonin

For 3750Es, I believe you need to "license" better than IP Base to use full OSPF as this model might have a "universal" image.

I currently have the UniversalK9 image on this switch, so it doesn't support OSPF either.

The universal image is supposed to support full OSPF routing, if you have the IP Services license.

The OSPF support that Antonin references in the later IOS IP Base images is the "OSPF for routed access", which is noted as:

Note OSPF for  Routed Access supports only one OSPFv2 and one OSPFv3 instance with a maximum  number of 200 dynamically learned routes.
