Hi,

I have a cisco 6500 and for Vlan 1 This switch is ROOT

But i have Other Vlan Example Vlan 22 , 25

For that Vlans this 6500 is not a root switch.

My l3 is in VTP server mode also There are 3 L2 Switch Connected with THIs L3 Switch(6500)

For vlan22 My switch1 is a root

for vlan 25 my switch 3 is Root

As per CCNA Stdy material If my core switch 6500 is root for Vlan 1 then it should be Root for all vlan.

Note : All my vlan are L3 Vlan.

Can any one explain.

In case of PVSTP - Per VLAN STP, so for each VLAN, STP Root Bridge can be seperate.

If you want same Root Bridge for all the VLANS, you can either use RSTP or you can change priority for all VLAN's so that your Core Switch become ROOT Switch for all VLAN's.
