Hi,
We have following setup;
LA -->ASA firewall(BGP Peering) --> Parent Organisation Router(BGP Peer) --> Servers --> Internet
We as a child organisation use the internet via our parent organisations infrastructure. There is bgp running between our perimeter ASA firewall to their BGP router.
There are other servers/internet that we access via this bgp peer.
Is it advisable to do QoS on our ASA to limit the amount of traffic? or is it redundant as the QoS might have already been in place at the BGP peer router or the traffic has already entered the network.
Appreciate all inputs!

Depends on what you're trying to achieve. You can do traffic shaping/policing on the ASA. generally speaking, policing is usually performed on ingress traffic and shaping on egress.
If you're looking for fancy queueing you'll need to throw a router in between.

Thanks, If we shaping on the outside interface of this ASA for the traffic coming inbound from the Peer bgp router, will it help to regulate the bandwidth?
