Hi all ,

What is the  difference between VSS and vPC . Can we consider VSS is for 4500/6500 platform and vpc for nexus platform ? Does it provide the same mechanism?

Thanks,

Regards,

Vijay.

Basically, VSS allows two physical 6500's to be managed & function as a single logical switch.  vPC, or virtual port channel, allows a single logical port channel to be presented to an end device (though each half of the virtual port channel is configured and managed by two logically distinct nexus switches).
