Hi,

I have been playing around with the "memory free low-watermark" command. However, the amount of free memory reported by this feature is not consistent with the output from the "show processes memory" command. See below.

switch#show proc mem
Processor Pool Total:   71050216 Used:   31824332 Free:   39225884
      I/O Pool Total:   12582912 Used:    8673532 Free:    3909380
Driver te Pool Total:    1048576 Used:         40 Free:    1048536

switch#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.

switch(config)#memory free low-watermark processor ?
  <1-4294967295>  low water mark of memory in KB

switch(config)#memory free low-watermark processor 10000
switch(config)#

Pool: Processor  Free: 5686000  Threshold: 10240000

switch(config)#end

switch#show ver

Switch Ports Model              SW Version            SW Image

*    1 24    WS-C3750G-24T      12.2(55)SE9           C3750-IPBASEK9-M
     2 24    WS-C3750G-24T      12.2(55)SE9           C3750-IPBASEK9-M

I also have the same behaviour on a WS-C2960S-24TS-L

Does anyone know why these memory free values are different?

Hi Tom,

Are you immediately seeing it after configuring it?

Or is it occassionaly reporting it?

Thanks,

M

Hi Madhukrishnan,

This occurs instantly after entering the command "memory free low-watermark processor 10000".

Thanks,

Tom
