Hello, if I have two L3 switches located at the same site, each one with their own WAN circuit outbound. These two switches are connected together
Each switch is advertising their own networks via BGP. Some of the networks are shared. With these shared networks, naturally only one switch is advertising them via BGP.
My question is if switch #1 loses it's WAN connection, how do I auto start advertising it's networks from switch #2 ?
Perhaps I would just advertise ALL networks on both switches and 'prepend' the duplicates on one switch ? Can you actually prepend individual BGP networks or is there a better way ?
Thanks kindly.

Hi,
the switch 1 and 2 are running the same iBGP domain? you can use local preference and as-prepend to manipulate the traffic through route-maps.
Do you have a diagram?
