Redundant engine slot in cause power down

Hi All, 

Current 1 chassis with Sup 8E, after we slot in 1 more redundant sup engine to chassis whole chassis become down, all line card is down, need to unslot the redundant engine then restart the chassis then ok.

Both sup engine is same model and firmware version

What is the cause?

Hi,

Make sure the redundant Sup has the same exact IOS and license as the primary Sup.

Both engine need separate license ipbase?

 - Use    a syslog server for collecting device messages, check what is reported prior to the power down.
