Hi
Can anyone help me to configure Dynamic Vlan ( MAC address based).I like to configure 7 Vlans.Can i configure VMPS server or anyother server for this solution ?
It is purely MAC based mapping.Kindly help me in this regard.

What switch are you trying to configure this for and is it running CatOS or IOS.
A more modern way to do this is to use 802.1x dynamic vlan assignments. Perhaps you could tell us a bit more about your requirements.

Hi Jon,
I have Cisco 4506 switch( with SUP-II plus) running with IOS. I like to cofigure 7 vlan( one will be for servers). there are lot of mobile users. So the only way is dynamic vlan assignment ( customer prefers MAC based) & i have edge switches 2950,3524 & 3550 switches.

I have to give solution on the above requirment.If I purchase ACS 4.1 or 4.2,Can we configure MAC based vlan assignment?

There ist a cheaper solution than an ACS. Linux-box as VMPS.
