Hello,

I am going to replace my core which is 6509 with 9400 switch. But we have wireless controller on 6509 which I still want to use for sometime. So if I remove routing from 6509 and make a access switch would wireless controllers still work?

Thank you!

Hi,

It depend on your current design. Is the current 6509 layer-3? Is the current 6509 a core switch or acting as an access switch?

HTH

Yes it is layer 3 and acting as core.

Thanks

Than as long as you run layer-3 on the 9400, you should be able to use the wireless controller the same way as the old 6500.

HTH

9400 will be new core but I still want to use old 6509 just for wireless cards as they wont work in new chassis. Should I just remove routing from old core and make it access switch and wireless blades on it will still work?

Thanks
