Reusing SFP's

I am replacing a old 3750 with a new 3850, I have several SFP's of different variety in the old 3750.  How can I verify that these SFP's will work in my new switch BEFORE I do the replacement?

The only way to test is to just connect the switches together using the SFPs you have with the right fiber patch cord. If the link comes up and the interface is clean, the SFP is good if not it is not. Don't do this in a production environment or if you do, make sure it is isolated and does not cause a loop in your network.

if they all are cisco, most of them work as expected - if they are 3rd party, you need to check by inserting and disable the warning for 3rd party SFP.

make sure you test offline all the time.

Should work.

Pop the modules into the new switch and watch the logs carefully.  If the optical modules are fine, there should not be any logs saying the port has been disabled.
