rip default route

hi guys,

i need some advice here.

i have a lab testing for some routers configured for OSPF and RIPv2.

one of the router A added the following route into the routing table, when i shutdown an interface on another router.

R*   0.0.0.0/0 [120/1] via 192.168.254.2, 00:00:11, FastEthernet2/0

This router A is running ospf and rip v2, and configured for one way route redistribution from rip to ospf.

i dont remember reading anything like this behaviour before.

my questions:

- is there any documents which i can refer on why was this route added in the first place?

- and is there any method which i can prevent the router from adding this default rip route?

thanks in advance.

It's impossible to say what is happening from the diagram and the description. Are you originating a default-route somewhere in the OPSF domain and is this getting passed back to the RIP router.

Need a lot more details to help really.
