ROAS Layer 2 point of view

Hi, have anyone tested what does router do with layer 2 header of one packet arrived on one subinterface destined to another subinterface. I wonder if it can change source field with its corresponding subinterface mac address or with its physical interface?

And second question:

int g0/0.1

encapsulation dot1q 2 native

ip add y.y.y.y /24

int g0/0.2

encapsulation dot1q 4

ip add x.x.x.x/24

when router receives packet from switch tagged with vlan 4, destined to vlan 2 what router must do with tagging while sending  packet via g0/0.1. ?

As i understand (correct if i'm not right) router must send packet without tag information.

Not tested it but my understanding is the router just uses it's physical mac address because it can use the vlan tag to route the traffic correctly.

The native vlan is always untagged so you are correct
