I need to know how to reset my cisco switch back to defaults. I have a catalyst 2950 switch and would also like to know how to log into it after to set ports to IP addresses

If you want to set the switch to default you need to issue "wr erase" and than reboot the switch.

Be careful, by using this command the configuration of the switch will be completely earsed and you will lose connectivity to the device.  If you want to access it after the reboot than you need to use a console cable.
