Hi
The rollover cable is also known as the console cable, it is used to connect a PC to the console port on a device (router, switch, firewall, access point, etc) to manage it. It has a serial port at one end and RJ45 at the other end.

Hello
Just like to add due to newer laptop/pcs not having a serial connections it best to acquire a usb version to Juilos post and if the need ever arises then purchase a serial adaptor to attach to the RS232 cable
