Route Leaking (will routes bounce?)

Hi,

I would like to route leak my VRF (vrf-a) into another VRF (vrf-b)

I have "production" routes in VRF-a that are learned by BGP and OSPF.

My question, when issue the import and export command will the existing routes be affected (i.e will BGP/OSPF be bounced?)

From memory, I am sure this causes some kind of routing hit but can't find any supporting documentaion.

Thank you for reading

Matt

What platform and firmware are you on? Route leaking should not disrupt the BGP process since there isn't a neighbor to reset. It would only cause issues if you are changing VRF names or RDs. That has been my experience anyway. If you can't risk a disruption, make sure you make your changes during a maintenance window.

Regards,
Mike
