Hi There,

This is my first time to configure an EIGRP in CORE SWITCHES. It is advisable to configure in CORE SWITCH? My plan is to connect all the link between core switches to have a Redundant link.

Regards

Hi
Yes thats perfectly fine and you can have redundant links , EIGRP will automatically pick the best links using metrics or you can manually adjust them using the K1 metrics , delay is better to use than bandwitdh for k1s as its carried through the AS unlike BW

Thanks, Malone!

Do you think these 4 core switches are capable of backbone? I was thinking this is my main backbone and in I will add additional switches for each backbone?

This is a lab yes , your not using public addresses inside the network correct ?
The picture does not state what type of switches they are to be a backbone switch ? usually depends on size of the network you would use some form of chassis based switch at core level that supports VSS/VPC or stackwise to give it some form of logical redundancy but you can just use l3 routing too if not capable of that or stack them

use layer 3 portchannels between the switches and run eigrp between them , set the backup links one each interface with delay 100000 command to ensure there backups only

you can then check all your links are viable with show ip eigrp top all and the ones you have set are seen correctly

Thanks for your reply I will try that and if am not getting I will post the problem again to get some bits of help
