Hi all,
I have an IP address assigned to fa0/1 on the router which is connected to my core switch. Do I have to assigned another IP address for vlan 1 on the router? what's the use of vlan 1?
Here's my network:
VLAN 1 = 10.65.0.0/24 (Management)
VLAN 2 = 10.65.1.0/24 (Users)
VLAN 3 = 10.65.2.0/24 (Servers)
Pls help.. I'm testing it on Cisco Packet Tracer..

No you dont have to, and its not recommended either to have VLAN 1 as your managment VLAN.
Vlan 1 is designed for another purpose, its primarily used to carry STP,VTP and CDP Protocols.
