RSPAN at Nexus 9K

Hi,

I have read that N9K doesn’t support RSPAN but I see at my boxes that the vlan 666 is a remote span.

What is more interesting that is working fine however I don’t know how vlan 666 was defined.

I ask because nowadays I couldn't  create next remote vlan ie. Vlan 669 as a remote span.

nexus9k-1 (config)# vlan 669

nexus9k-1 (config-vlan)# remote-span

Hello!

It is strange, how is your configuration in your source and destination switches for that vlan? how is your monitor sesion configured? You can configure  a vlan like a source with a ERSPAN configuration, I invite you to read this Cisco document: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus9000/sw/7-x/system_management/configuration/guide/b_Cisco_Nexus_9000_Series_NX-OS_System_Management_Configuration_Guide_7x/b_Cisco_Nexus_9000_Series_NX-OS_System_Management_Configuration_Guide_7x_chapter_010001.pdf

Regards,

Hi

I know it  is strange but  in my case I don’t want to use nexus 9K as source or destination monitor session. I want to use them as transit network for RSPAN VLAN in my case it is the VLAN 666.

Diagram1.

Catalyst 3650 (sw1)======VPC=====N9K[1-2] =====VPC=====Catalyst 3650(sw2).

I need to monitor traffic between ports at sw1 and send copy to port at sw2.  So  As you see I need RSPAN vlan at N9K.

Best

Rico

Hello,

I have a similar situation and wanted to ask if this scenario works fine with you finally? if Yes, please send me the details of your switches configuration.

Thanks.

I would also like to use my nexus 9k as a transit network for RSPAN VLANs.

I have (2960)-----(9K VPC)-----(2960).

I can create the RPSAN VLANs on the 2960s.  I can not create the VLAN as an RSPAN on the 9Ks.

Were you able to figure out how you got this working and could you please share your results with me.

Thanks,

Allen

Hello

Is this working, I am facing same issue, 2960x >> N9k >>> 2960x.

I am also not able to create RSPAN vlan in 2960 switch, is it required license. Currently Lanbase is installed.

Thanks
