There a Checkpoint FW connected to a Cat3550 Switch using a Quad NIC. This was ok.
I have just moved the connection to a Cat 4006 and it has immedaitely come up with
2006 Oct 12 14:46:36 BST +01:00 %SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Host xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is flap
ping between port 2/1 and port 2/2
2006 Oct 12 14:46:44 BST +01:00 %SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Host xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is flap
ping between port 1/1 and port 2/2
2006 Oct 12 14:46:45 BST +01:00 %SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Host xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is flap
ping between port 1/1 and port 2/1
2006 Oct 12 14:46:47 BST +01:00 %SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Host xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is flap
I have checked the Cisco Website and using the error code can see that this can be traced to the quad cards.
Please how do I resolve this as we really need to move these connections to the Cat4006?
Thanks

Hi,
Are you connecting the Checkpoint to one Cisco 4006 or two Cisco 4006 ?
what is the configuration on the Quad NIC, is it trunk or access ?
Also, what is the config on the 4006, is it trunk or access.
May be you should try:
"switchport host" command
By the way, what this problem lead to ?

I cannot really tell what it is on the checkpoint and they are plugged into the same C4006 switch.
No, is is configured as an access port on the Switch.
Problem is that it is filling up the C4006 with the mesage and using up i guess all the cpu as time go on.
Thanks
