Hi,

We have users that connect to an externally companies shared drive. This is set up using an extended access list to allow the traffic.

Users seem to be getting kicked out of their session. Is there anywhere on the router\multilayer switch that could terminate this session? a global session timeout??? I don't thinks its an applicaiton issue.

Rob.

None that I know of . Routers or switches don't kill sessions they just pass the traffic and or traffic can restricted as you said via ACL"s .

What is the way they connect to shared drives?

I mean VPN, Webvpn, SSL

Check if there is ideal session timeout set for the way you are being connected

The users connect via their windows network account. The traffic is routed from our network out to the external providers firewall and then onto their network. they have confirmed that there is no timeout sessions on the firewall to disconnect this.
