Chala

Dear Cisco Community,

I have an issue with a cisco SFP transceiver not working

SFP Model= GLC-T

Switch used =catalyst 3650, 4500-x

when I insert and remove the SFP it shows on the syslog message but when I check the show interface transceiver' it shows 'no transceiver present' and the port status is down.

How can I solve this problem ?

Help here, please !

The switch can see the 3rd party GLC-T.

And I am not seeing anything wrong.

Does this mean the problem is with the SFP.

@Chala wrote:

There is no indication the SFP is faulty because nothing is connected to it.

Connect something that is known to be working to the SFP and watch the logs.

Hello @Chala

Is it a Cisco SFP ? Some counterfeit or third-party SFPs may cause issues, such as being detected in the syslog but not fully recognized.

If you're using a third-party or non-Cisco SFP, you can bypass the transceiver validation check with the following command under config-termnal: service unsupported-transceiver

Best regards
