Re: sh int not showing last 5 minutes counters

Hi

I have a cable connected from isp to my switch port g1/0/1

its up and its listening for the mac of the isp side ip. traffic is working fine through it. i have deployed nms and it wasnt showing traffic on that interface. so i manually checked that particular interface using sh int g1/0/1 and no value is there in the last 5 minutes rates. i had cleared counters for all interfaces.

po11 is connected to my firewall's wan port. on switch i am able to find mac of firewall on po11.

po6, po10,po31 are access switches connected to this switch.

its cisco switch stack and i see that on switch 1 its not showing any value for below command but switch 2 of this stack is showing.

Check input and output rate' it better than use counter

same result there. i used that command . it seems that i am not getting statistics on nms for the fist switch in stack. neither do i see counters for any of interface using below command on any interface of the first member switch.

Based on the output of your show int this looks to be the indicator:

Last input 00:00:00, output never, output hang never

Your statistics don't indicate any traffic coming into the port at all. By chance is there a media converter on the link that could be keeping the port up/up? Typically you would expect to at least see broadcast and mcast traffic even if data isn't passing.

these are two 3850 switches in stack.

its not showing traffic for all interfaces of one of the switch in stack. Taffic is passing through those interfaces perfectly fine.

I even connected laptop to this port and transferred multi gb file and still status for that port showed 0 0 statistics.

its huawei isp switch and the only exit path for all traffic from our core switch to internet. there is no issue wiht the port itself. i have its perfectly fine. spanning tree is not blocking it.

The main issue is that i cannot see any counters for all the ports of one of the switch in stack. Also my nms is not showing any traffic for any port of this switch in stack . While the nms is displaying all daata for ports of the second switch in stack. and also show interface commnand displays data on all interfaces of the second switch properly . but its showing 00 for first switch.
